What is Mobility Options?
Mobility Options is a coordinated Human Services transportation clearinghouse managed by the Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging (RAAA). It's a resource web link designed to provide a comprehensive list of transportation resources for the Virginia Region 16 - Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties and the City of Fredericksburg.
What type of transportation resources are available under Mobility Options?
Currently there are several resources available:
- personalized door-to door, mobility device approved vehicles which upon request and availability can transport individuals to a variety of destinations.
- FRED (Fredericksburg Regional Transit) information and referral provided to individual or groups interested in making use of a safe, local, efficient and inexpensive transit system.
- a newly implemented Travel Training program in which personalized individualized training is provided at no cost to interested parties who wish to learn how to safely and independently ride the FRED Regional Transit system.
- referrals to other regional transportation resources (based upon request).
Who qualifies for Mobility Options transportation?
Persons who are 60 years of age or older, persons with disabilities of both a physical or cognitive nature, and persons who are transportation disadvantaged may call and make a request for transportation assistance.
How do I contact Mobility Options for Assistance?
- Call 1-800-627-2892 during standard business hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday.
- Requests must be made a minimum of seven calendar days prior to day of travel.
- Limited service is provided on Saturdays (based on driver availability) and no service is available on Sundays.
- For any ride request, be prepared to provide complete information on your origination site and your destination.
